10 of the Most Popular Farmhouse Kitchens from Our Friends at Apartment Therapy

It’s pretty much impossible to escape the influence of Joanna Gaines and Ree Drummond these days. But I guess that’s not such a bad thing. Thanks to the ubiquity of shows like Fixer Upper and The Pioneer Woman, farmhouse-style kitchens are everywhere you turn. (What qualifies a kitchen as “farmhouse?” Think: humble and cheerful vibes, a mix of old and modern, shiplap, apron sinks, mixed metals, knick-knacks, and family heirlooms galore.)

A decent percentage of the kitchens featured in the House Tours on our sister site, Apartment Therapy, could be considered farmhouse-style (even if they’re in new-construction homes in the middle of a city). So we decided to round up 10 of the most popular farmhouse kitchens from Apartment Therapy. Here goes.

1. A Dreamy, Rustic, Eclectic 1729 Yorkshire Farmhouse Kitchen

Rachelle’s cozy kitchen is filled with inherited trinkets, rescued treasures, and charming touches like mismatched Anthropologie doorknobs. The space opens to a yard filled with chickens and pigs — of course.

2. A Cozy, “Southern Eclectic” Nashville Kitchen

This sweet and stylish East Nashville kitchen might just be the most charming space we’ve ever seen. Katie and Tyler sourced all their knick-knacks from antique stores, flea markets, and Craigslist. Anything they didn’t buy, Tyler built himself.

3. A Charming Tiny Farmhouse Kitchen on Wheels

The one thing that AT readers love more than a tiny house is a tiny house on wheels. Somehow this 280-square-foot space packs in most of the hallmarks of a farmhouse kitchen: tons of white shiplap (which makes it look even bigger), reclaimed walnut wood, bronze and matte black hardware, and an apron sink —just to name a few

4. A Farmhouse Kitchen with Lots of Pets

It’s not so surprising the owners of this house dig a farmhouse vibe. They have a few chickens, keep bees, and have two acres of wildflowers that they sell at a stand in the town square. The bright kitchen is filled with “sweet vignettes of all [their] favorite things about the farm … It’s the center of [their] home for sure.”

6. An Adorable, Cozy, Cottage Kitchen

Believe it or not, this sweet country kitchen is located in Florida! The owner describes her home’s style as a “quaint, vintage, rustic, feminine, cottage.” We love the way the dreamy tile backsplash complements all the pops of blue.

8. A Dreamy Flower Farm Kitchen

You’d never know it, but before this farmhouse in Canada was restored, it had a tiny kitchen without much light. Now, it’s got plenty of natural light — and don’t even get us started on those barn pendants.
